WOW vs SWTOR

Wow has previously been the only really really big MMORPG around for the past 8 years. They have been able to keep their fees as high as they want due to the lack of competition but about a year ago a new challenge awaited Blizzard, Star Wars the Old Republic was released and their was a lot of anticipation, many people bought the game on release day. Over the next month World of Warcraft lost 1 million subscribers which when you think at $15 a month per player, they lost a lot of cash, next thing is World of Warcraft is a lot bigger than The Old Republic, but this isn't really noticable, when you compare the player count it will feel relatively similiar size wize. While the graphics of The Old Republic outmatch WOW's you do need to keep in mind that The Old Republic came out when HD graphics were considered normal, in 2004 when WOW was released graphical quality was rather poor, Blizzard have done a good job making WOW look as sharp and new as possible. Both games have Starter Editions which allow you to try the game, for free! As you would expect restrictions apply to what you can do in the world but it is a great way to compare the games if you can't decide which one to buy.
