Halo Combat Evolved Review

This is the game that defined the First Person Shooter, sure COD did a decent job but Halo Combat Evolved, well, it scored a headshot.

Now, if you want to play the original version you may need to get hunting, finding it won't be easy so make sure to check Trade Me or Ebay, alternatively if you want to spend a bit more cash you can buy Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, it is the exact same game however, aswell as being able to play with the classic graphics you can play with new, improved HD graphics, along with the addidtion of Terminals and Skulls, the campaign is full of fun intersting missions, and it is also full of long, boring, hard, agrivating missions, not looking at anyone in Paricular Library. But as annoying as these missions are I have to give the Bungie credit, the design, graphics, sound, everything was revoloutionary at the time of release. The Multiplayer is still really fun to play today, there is no xbox Live however.

8.5-10

Revoloutionary but long annoying campaign misisons.

Theme Park World Review

Theme park was my favourite game earlier in my life, it's funny, amusing and not to hard to play.

You are pretty much a magical god, you are overlooking a large amount of land that at the start of the game is empty, a little blob who has a strong scottish accent will give you tips and guide you through the first half hour of the game, you start with 30 grand, a lot of this cash will go early on building rides and shops plus staff for your visitors, when you feel ready open the park and see the money fly in, yeah not really, most customers early on in the game go to the front gate, they will look at the ticket price then leave, so now you need to lower the price, once your Park becomes established and well run people will pay up to 200 bucks for a ticket! At the end of each year you get a results poster which shows you all the money you've spent and earned, how many visitors have come and so on. Now after your fist year you will notice a lot of cash has been spent of staff like guards, cleaners, mechanics, entertainers and researchers, so you might think of buying security cameras and fire the guards, the game functions a lot like a real buisness, you constantly need to be aware of how much cash your earning and losing, if you run out and don't make any in a short space of time you go broke and your park will close, you will also get goals which when completed award you with a golden ticket, cleche I know but you need these to open new parks like candyland or Halloween world.

Brute Force Review   Xbox Original

Brute Force is funny, has good gameplay and pretty impresive co-op but the big important question, is it fun? Well, the game pits you as three humans and a weird crocidile like alien who loves to kill things, much like Conflict Desert Storm you are able to switch between your squad, order them around and turn them into killing machines, however I did not feel a sense of ownership over my squad, you don't get rewards or to upgrade your squad which kinda stinks, however the four player co-op is very cool, it is great for parties, there is also multiplayer deathmatches allowing up to four players to locate, kill and destroy. Each character gets a special ability like thermal eyes or something ridiculous but interesting, most players will choose one character and just play as them the entire game, but tactical and skilled players will frequently switch between characters to get a good perspective and the upper hand in combat. The game is unique in that it brings a new kind of feeling to shooters, it was revoloutionary at time of release and still continues to impress.

Call of Duty Review   PC

This game started the famous Call of Duty Franchise, this game was the best shooter at the time of it's release but does it still provide a good experience?

To start with it's pretty old, if you have a very very good PC you may not actually be able to run it. However even if you can run it you will still have a large ammount of trouble obtaining the game, once you pass these two challenges you are in for a bit of fun, first thing when you boot the training mission up the game looks old, there's a health bar and a compass, the graphics are overwhelming, and not in the good way, it's a bit scary comparing graphics in Black Ops 2 to the graphics in this game. The aiming us a pain, and your crosshairs move a bit at a time instead of smoothely which makes shooting bad guys a lot harder than it should be. I don't really enjoy some of the campaign levels, you are occasionally completely alone and must fight through waves of bad guys. The game features some cool points like parachuting into France or flying around in a plane with loads of Turbulence.

I didn't get a chance to play multiplayer as the servers no longer run.

7-10

A good campaign but I can't judge multiplayer.

Lord of the Rings The Two Towers Video Game Review   PS2   Xbox

This classic game was a heap of fun for me to play and I still go back to it every now and then. The graphics are rubbish but like all older games this is the case. However the most important part, gameplay makes up for this.

Throughout the game you are given the power to choose a character to play as, either Aragorn, Legelos or Gimlii. Each with their own pros and cons. You can level each character up much like you would in an RPG giving you a sense of ownership when it comes to your character, the game focuses on basic hack and slash gameplay, light attacks, heavy attacks, block, special and combo. You don't get a load of attacks but this is actually good, it prevents the game getting horribly confusing, I have been in situations before where I am like "now how do I do that combo again?, oh wait, how about this move or this or this or this or this" and so on. It keeps your game simple but yet a joy to play, as a fan of the movies and books it's a joy through the game recognizing areas and scenes, like for example the Mines of Moria, the battle at Helms Deep, it's a heap of fun. The game is not exactly the same as the movie but this is forgiven, it would be incredibly hard to keep it exactly the same so the studio has done a good job. The game can at times be incredibly challenging and simple attacks will not do, mainly at the later levels. Not looking at anyone in particuallar Helms Deep! The game also contains scenes from the movies, seeing as The Two Towers was still not out for another month when this game was released it was huge, people would rush out and buy it just to see the sneak peeks at the movie. The game also comes with loads of bonus content, between interviews with Orlando Bloom and behind the scenes it's a LOTR fans dream.

8.5-10

A great game but a bit to hard.
