Borderlands Review

Crazy, funny, weird and there are big fun monster trucks! My kind of game.

You start in a bus and get the choice of one of four characters, there is no backstory which enables you to get involved and feel like you are the character. As it says on the back of the game box Action RPG meets First Person Shooter, it is the ultimate Gaming Experience. You are on a planet called Pandora which is pretty much a wasteland, you befriend a small robot that has the most annoying voice, the game is 100% playable in two player splitscreen and four player online, when you mix up all the characters you get explosive results. If you purchase the Game of The Year Editon of Borderlands you will get a great deal because you get all four of the expansion packs which add loads more content, I have sunk atleast ten hours into the first one and am only just halfway through. The plot is well written and there are a lot of well voiced characters. All of the quests are unique, you may need to clear a bandit outpost or you may need to collect some audio logs scattered throughout an area. I would have liked to see a competitive multiplayer, the best you get is you can challenge other players to duels, but the campaign is large enough to keep you busy for atleast half a year, if not more if you want 100%.

9.5-10

Huge well written campaign and great Expansion Packs but lacks serious competitive multiplayer.
